 Golftage auf dem Grün. Die ‚Tee Time' hat eine lange
Tradition in Sarasota. Sie begann mit den Pionieren, die aus Schottland
in diese Gegend kamen. Der schottische Oberst John Hamilton Gillespie
spielte hier nach seiner Ankunft die erste Runde auf einem Golfplatz
mit nur zwei Löchern, den er für sich selbst angelegt
hatte. 1905 baute er dann Sarasotas ersten richtigen Golfplatz mit
9 Löchern samt Clubhaus, und seither ist Golf fester Bestandteil
des hiesigen aktiven Lebensstils.
