ACTIVIDADES CULTURALES
En cuanto al Arte y las Tablas se refiere, ya no es ningún secreto que John Ringling fue una poderosa influencia cultural y artística en la zona de Sarasota, en la que se continúa aplaudiendo las artes de todo tipo con una gran variedad de presentaciones culturales generalmente reservadas para ciudades mucho más grande. El privilegio que ofrece la zona de Sarasota es el de disfrutar las tardes y las noches en los teatros, en las presentaciones del ballet local, en la ópera y la sinfónica, en ambientes íntimos y cómodos. Las presentaciones cinematográficas van desde las presentaciones de las películas más importantes, a las de las películas y festivales independientes...y disponemos también de más de treinta galerías y museos.
El nuevo Museo de Arte Asiático es una magnífica joya dedicada al arte del Sudeste de Asia, donde se presentan esculturas de la colección china de jade del Río Yangtze. El Auditorio Van Wezel de color púrpura y en forma de concha marina, está mejor que nunca en su temporada de reapertura y después de su reciente remodelación. También, el repertorio rotativo de la Compañía del Teatro Ásolo, ofrece una gran variedad de presentaciones teatrales. Un trío de tesoros le espera en el Museo de Arte John y Mable Ringling, el que se vanagloria de poseer la colección mundial más importante de pinturas de Rubens, del Museo Circense, repleto de carrozas de desfiles y otros artículos recordatorios que reviven memorias de la niñez del "Big Top", así como la Cà d'Zan, ostentosa mansión de los Ringling que en este momento se encuentra sujeta a una importante restauración histórica.
